Climate Justice and Finance in Africa
This project examines structural inequalities in global climate finance and how unmet commitments from developed countries affect trust and cooperation with Sub-Saharan Africa. Using policy analysis, case studies, and stakeholder interviews, it explores how climate finance systems can be restructured to promote equity, accountability, and stronger African participation in global climate governance.
Biography
Fadzai Chipato is a Lecturer in the Department of Sociology and Social Anthropology at Great Zimbabwe University. She holds a PhD in Rural Development and Management Studies from China Agricultural University. Her research adopts intersectional and political economy perspectives, focusing on climate change, just transitions, development-induced displacement, land governance, rural politics, and livelihoods.
