Competing for the Future

The US-China technological rivalry reshapes the global political economy and the liberal order. This project examines how Brazil and Germany respond to this structural change. While Brazil seeks neo-industrialization to avoid reprimarization, Germany faces strategic autonomy dilemmas within the EU. The research investigates how regional powers pursue technological resilience and viability under increasing geopolitical constraints.

Biography

Associate Professor at the Federal University of Uberlândia (2012–Present). Coordinator of the IPE Section at the Brazilian International Relations Association (ABRI). Researcher at National Institute for Studies on the United States (INCT/INEU). Former Coordinator of the Graduate Program in RI (PPGRI/UFU, 2021-2025). Co-founder of the podcast Chutando a Escada. PhD in Political Science (UNICAMP) and MA in International Relations (San Tiago Dantas). Specialist in International Political Economy.
