Amplifying Asymmetries? How AI is transforming labour markets and international diplomacy

Artificial intelligence is not only changing the way we work, communicate, and make decisions. It is also increasingly influencing who has access to knowledge, resources, and technological infrastructure—and thus how power is distributed among states, companies, and societies.

The third online event of this year’s Bonn Symposium, organized by the Development and Peace Foundation, is dedicated to the opportunities and challenges posed by these developments. The focus is on the impact of AI on global labor markets: Which jobs and skills are changing? Who benefits from productivity gains, and where are new dependencies or inequalities emerging? At the same time, the event turns its attention to international diplomacy: How are digital technologies changing international cooperation, bargaining power, and access to strategically relevant knowledge?
