The International Security Forum Bonn has a longstanding tradition of serving as a prominent platform for convening esteemed international experts and practitioners in the fields of security and foreign policy. This forum provides a unique opportunity for in-depth discussions on the future of transatlantic relations and critical issues within the realm of international politics. Its overarching objective is to identify effective strategies and approaches to advance German, European, and transatlantic foreign and security policies while addressing urgent security challenges.

Scheduled from October 19 to October 22, 2023, the ISFB is set to hold its eighth edition in person, hosted at the esteemed University of Excellence Bonn. This event stands out as the premier international security conference in North Rhine-Westphalia and its neighboring federal states.

The ISFB encompasses a diverse program, including a transatlantic conference day, known as the Main Day (on October 19), with a primary focus on traditional security policy concerns. Additionally, the event features the Bonn Future Lab on Strategic Foresight, themed “Global Energy Transitions” (from October 20 to 22).

Under the distinguished patronage of Minister President of North Rhine-Westphalia Hendrik Wüst, the International Security Forum Bonn 2023 promises to be a remarkable gathering. The Main Day, titled “A World out of Joint – Global Power Shifts and Religious Extremism,” offers international experts a platform to engage in critical discussions concerning the future of transatlantic relations and the major challenges encountered in the realm of international politics. This significant day of the International Security Forum Bonn 2023 is proudly hosted by the Henry Kissinger Professorship for Strategic and Integration Studies at the Center for Advanced Security, Strategic, and Integration Studies, in collaboration with the Academy of International Affairs NRW.
