The Middle East has been a culturally and geostrategically fascinating and complex region for decades. The importance of this region for global politics in the 21st century will in all likelihood continue to grow.

The Academy of International Affairs NRW and the Academy for European Human Rights Protection at the University of Cologne are looking forward to discussing the opportunities and challenges associated with this region in a panel discussion with Navid Kermani, one of Germany’s most important cultural bridge builders and leading intellectuals, and Dr. Mayssoun Zein Al Din, Director of the Academy of International Affairs NRW. The moderator will be Prof. Dr. Angelika Nußberger, Director of the Academy for European Human Rights Protection.
